Meet Stevie! She is an adorable 2 year old who also happens to be an endless supply of energy! I met her and her parents over at Oakland's Mansion then headed over to Cannonsburgh for some cool shots as well. She kept us entertained the whole time. She is so full of personality and was bouncing all over the place. I was wishing I could bottle up some of that energy for myself! Well, I have had a wonderful time seeing Ava grow during her first year. She is such a sweet little thing. She was always so curious about my camera and she loved to play in between photos. Gotta say that I love the Battle family! They are awesome to be around. And for this session I got to hang out with the whole clan, ( mom, dad and all 4 children) while we got some cool shots of Justin and Blake. Justin recently turned 5 and Blake is 9 months. I loved the colors mom picked out for the boys. Very cool indeed. And it was nice having the siblings gathered around trying to help get Blake to laugh. He wasn't budging though. Ok, now these peeps were hilarious. I love to laugh and joke around with all my clients, but they stole the show for sure. Oh and did I mention that they are an adorable family? Yeah, we got some great shots. And when I was talking with mom during our phone consultation, she told me that her and dad had never had an engagement session before they were married and asked if we could do a few of just the two of them. I met up with Oakley, his mom, and grandma for his 6 month session. I work with his mom and she has the most adorable house I have ever seen. Some of his session was done in his nursery and all I can say is OMG....I just loved it. We all had a blast doing the photos. And let me just tell ya, grandma can cut a rug. I cannot say enough cool things about this adorable couple! Meet Clint and Jessica! They are getting married on June 13th! These two totally rocked their engagement session and look absolutely stunning in the photos.....

This is why I love engagement sessions so much! It is such a neat way to get to know the bride and groom before the Big Day. We laugh, go on mini-hikes through dirt, mud, and tall grass. And so far we've been lucky enough to stay away from snakes. But most of all we have fun. That's what it's all about.

Ever heard the expression "If only I could be a fly on the wall"? Well being a photographer, I kinda get to experience some of life that way. Others lives. Through my work I get to tell someone else's story because I was there. This was the case for me when Ryan and I drove up to Oak Ridge to visit our friends Jessica and Billy. They are having their first child at the end of this month and I was thrilled to hear the news and to officially be labeled as the family's "personal photographer". Technically before that day I was already "official", because you see....Jessica and Billy are the kind of loyal clients that every photographer dreams of. The ones that love your work and will tell anyone and everyone about you. No matter what. But being there, watching their faces as they talked about the long awaited arrival of their little one- well, it sealed the deal for me to. Congrats to you both and I can't wait to meet Hayden!

I had such a great day with my family! We all went to church together and then had lunch at mom and dads house. We took naps and had a fun little Easter egg hunt with Will. I think he had a blast outside and really enjoyed finding all his eggs (with some help from his mommy and Uncle Ryan). Holidays have always meant a lot to me, but now with Will in our family, that child like innocence that I remember when I was little always comes back and makes the day extra special.

I had so much fun taking my little nephew's 1 year photos! He has grown so much and it is still hard to believe he is one already! I know every aunt thinks their nephews are the cutest, but I just can't help but say, that my little one is just absolutely the most adorable kid in town! Ok, so every now and then I have some kids that do not like my camera. There's just something about having their pictures made, that they do not like. This is the case with Ella. But luckily for me and her mom, I was able to get some good shots to document her 3rd year of life. She is so cute, she just likes to be the one taking the pictures, so I heard......

And what a celebration it was! We all had a blast getting to spend time with him on his special day! Is swear he received so many gifts it looked like 2 or 3 Christmases instead of one birthday. He got a speed racer car, a radio flyer wagon, clothes, a rocking horse, a remote controlled Tigger toy, books, and more. My poor sis is gonna have to buy another house soon, just to hold all of his things!

And it is safe to say that he is now a Julia's bakery fan for sure. He was kinda slow at the start, but once that frosting hit his tongue, it was all over.....his day ended in the bath, covered in blue frosting and cake.....YUM!

From the moment your mommy told me she was having a baby, I fell in love with you. As I write this now, my eyes are filling with tears because I am overjoyed at how happy you have made me this past year. You are a miracle and a true blessing from God. I was so thrilled to be there for your first breath and in awe when I heard your voice for the first time. I am still in awe. I enjoy every minute with you and I always leave looking forward to the next time I will see you. You are growing so fast, but what an amazing journey it has been to see how fast you are learning and how smart you are. I am so proud of you and I love you with all my heart. Being an aunt has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. So, today I wish you a Happy 1st Birthday my sweet boy and I look forward to many, many more to celebrate.

I had a blast this past weekend hanging out with Blake and his mom. We traveled out to his "crib" on Saturday for his 6 month session. He did a wonderful job and we got some awesome shots. It is such a blessing and an honor to witness the birth of a child. I have had that privilege several times now and I can honestly say that there is nothing in the world quite like it. When you see this tiny miracle for the first time, the world does change forever. You can actually feel it. I've been friends with Carrie for many years now and I was happy to be there with her and her family as the new love of her life entered the world. Goals....just goals....

So, my first post of 2009.....wow, hard to believe another year has come and gone, but I am looking forward to the new year and the new adventures that are ahead of me. This year I decided not to make any New Year's resolutions, but rather some goals for myself on a personal and business level. (time to stretch my fingers...this is gonna be a long one)

As many of you know, I have had an 8-5 job ever since I started my business many years ago and it has always been a struggle for me to have to do both. I have felt like my 8-5 has taken away from my business and my ability to give 100% to my photography clients. And I do believe it is true on some level. But I have decided this year to try my best and not focus on the fact that I have to work 8-5 for now but rather to focus more on the clients I do have rather than fret about the ones I don't. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do(photography that is) and I love meeting new clients and having them become more like friends in the long run, but I need to take a step back and regroup. I want to learn more about the business side and take more ownership in this business that carries my name. Being a small business owner these days is tough, but I am truly grateful for the clients and friends that have been such a blessing in my life and have been there solid for me through the many bumps in the road. For those of you that had other options, but chose me, to you I am forever grateful. It means the world that you would trust me with your precious memories! Sinclair Photography has come a long way since I started out with my film camera and I am excited to see what awesome things God has in store for me on this journey. So, saddle up and come along with me and if you're already on the journey, I would love for you to stay and experience all the cool things that come along.....

And on a personal note....I want to take more time this year for me. I love reading and I want to make more time for it. I want to spend more time with my husband just laughing and being goofy. I want to see my sister and my nephew more often(he is 10 months today by the way-where has the time gone). I want to be serious about being financially free(we WILL do it babe). I want to exercise more just to improve my over all health. I want to get closer to God and spend more time with Him. I hope you are all able to have goals in your life and I hope you all succeed in reaching them. :)

OK,OK......I know. I am way behind on my blogs, but I must admit this has been our busiest season in a while. And I can only hope that it continues to be busy for us. Because that means I am getting closer to my goal of doing photography FULL TIME! We are currently not taking appointments during the month of December, just to prepare for our 2009 season! We are looking to add more products, new albums and a few price changes. But not to worry...for those 2009 brides that have already booked, you are locked in at the 2008 rate! But anyways, I do apologize about being so behind on the blog these days. I have had several friends here lately tell me how they check my blog daily and noticed I haven't been posting anything, so thanks for lighting that fire under my rear and now hopefully I can get back in the swing of things!! So my post is Winter Wonderland and it truly was a sight to see this morning! And I know to all of our friends up North, they are probably laughing at what "little" we had, but to all of us here in good 'ole Tennessee, SNOW of any kind is a big deal. So I had to get out and snap a few photos. Just to document the fact that we did have some snow this year! I love snow and all that makes it feel more like the Holidays! Will you Marry me......?

Ok,so now let me tell you just how sly Josh is. I was working a wedding when I got a voicemail from Brandi's boyfriend Josh. He really didn't go into any detail over the phone about what he needed, so when we were finally able to talk that next Monday, he filled me in on the wonderful surprise he had for his future bride to be! He was going to propose! I was speechless for a moment, because I was so honored that he wanted me to be in on their forever! I had never been with a couple for a proposal and let me just tell ya, it isn't easy. My eyes were getting misty and starting to run, and for a photographer, you need your sight, and at that moment, mine was giving in to the tears. But anyways, back to the story. So, he sends his lovely lady 11 roses to work that Friday before the portrait session. He is sure to make a big deal about one of the roses missing, just to keep her off the diamond trail. And he works it out with a friend that works at the floral shop next to the Carter House, to leave the 12th rose waiting for Brandi. And so he did. When we got to the Carter House I was nervous, and just hoping I wouldn't mess something up and I know Josh had to be feeling the pressure as well. So getting the nod from Josh, a little ways into the session, I take Brandi off by herself for some pretend shots, just to buy Josh some time. And from the corner of my eye, I could see him walking back with the rose. I had Brandi step out into the sunlight to see her soon to be fiance' holding her ring and her rose. And this is the part where my eyes were filling up, and the group touring the Carter House were holding their breath nearby. Josh had filled them in on what was about to take place, when he had gone to get the rose. After it was all said and done, there were tears, clapping, shouts of Congratulations and well wishes, but the most important thing was that SHE SAID YES! It was simple and sweet and tells the story of how Brandi won her Josh....forever! Much Love.......

How do you begin to describe a couple that it already so awesome! It'll be difficult, but I'll do the best I can. It all started with an email when Brandi contacted me about setting up an appointment for portraits. The minute we began to talk the words just flowed and I knew she was cool from the start. And when she spoke so fondly and candidly about the guy that stole her heart, I knew she was smitten. From that moment on, I couldn't wait to meet them and introduce them to my camera! So on the chilly morning of October 18th, we finally met and as soon as my camera saw them, sparks flew! Instant chemistry! They were naturals! Ryan and I truly enjoyed their company and had a wonderful time. And little did Brandi know when she woke up that morning, that she would be getting engaged later that day.....Here are a few of my faves from the session....the blog above will give you a peek at Josh's super sweet proposal! And for you loyal blog readers, you are sure to notice something different about the way some of these photos look. And that is because we are phasing in outdoor lighting for some of our sessions, and we are very happy with the results so far. So I must take a moment to thank my outdoor lighting instructors Zach Gray and Evan Baines for sharing their knowledge that is allowing me to branch out and try new things! Thanks again so much! Over the weekend, I headed up to Beechgrove and got a chance to hang out with the super HOT mother/daughter duo Alice and Faith and their horses Dancer and William. I had a blast on Saturday getting to hang out with Emilie and her two girls Finley and CJ for their sisters session(which turned out to be a Finley session). They are adorable! What a way to start the day......

OK, so I'm feeling way under the weather today. My throat is on fire and I'm starting to ache all over. I'm at home and I thought well it hurts to talk and editing requires no talking, so what the hey...I'll wrap up a couple of jobs I've been working on. So, I settle in, get comfy, turn on my monitor and.......NOTHING! I quickly call my brainy computer genius husband, and he tells me I'm gonna need a new video card. So, with all that being said.....all of the editing jobs I have open right now are now going to be delayed for a couple of days! Not too terrible, but it's definitely frustrating for me and all of my excited clients. I will get these out as soon as my trusty computer is back up and running..... As for now....I'm off to the couch with a huge glass of orange juice(gotta pump that vitamin C) and hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow! Much Love!

All of us remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard about the Trade Center 7 years ago today. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was just about to leave for work and my mom and I were watching the Today show when the live feed came in and all eyes were on New York. We could all see the first tower on fire, but moments later when the plane flew into the second tower we all held our breath, knowing that this was no accident. I will never forget that day, and no one ever will. And my heart goes out to all of the families who will never get to hold their loved ones again on this side of eternity, but in Christ they will be united again! So, take the time today and everyday to tell your family and friends just how much you love them, because we are not promised tomorrow. Life is too short and 9/11/01 reminded us of that. So, to my husband, family and friends-I love you all so very much and I cherish our time together on this earth. I am truly blessed! Much Love.....

My sweet boy is 6 months old! I just love him so much and I wish I could see him everyday! So any opportunity I have to do his pictures, I jump at the chance! It's funny, but everytime I look at him, I have to laugh, just because he makes me so happy and he's the cutest child I have ever seen. I can't believe how time goes by so fast! Many of you may remember these little cuties when I posted their 3 month session, and my how they have grown! They look so much alike, but are totally different from eachother. I had a blast getting to photograph them at their 1 year milestone! It's such a special time! As most of you already know, I LOVE weddings! Especially when the bride and groom are so laid back and fun! Karen picked a beautiful color combinaton of black, red and white and had the cutest bridesmaid dresses you have ever seen! The weather was warm, but the overcast skies made for some stunning portraits. The lovely couple is enjoying a honeymoon in Cancun(man, I am jealous). I hope you guys have a good one! SO....what can I say, but that this girl is smokin'!! Meet BreeAnn! She is a senior this year and is absolutely adorable! We met in Woodbury at her home this past Saturday and headed out for some amazing shots! I told her that this was more like a model shoot rather than a senior session, but whatever it was, it was FUN!! We all had a blast and were blessed with wonderful weather as well. I had the honor of photographing Jessica and Billy's wedding on Saturday April 26,2008. They are such a sweet and loving couple. But most of all, they are my friends. Jessica contacted me in May of 2007 and booked us for their special day. We were strangers, but I soon realized just how awesome and fun she was to talk to, and there began the transition from client to friend. And Billy is her perfect match! It is so fun to see the two of them together. He truly worships her and it shows. We had a blast at the wedding and really enjoyed being around all of their friends and family. Today was the best! I got to hang with my sis for a good part of the day. We went to breakfast together and she treated me to a wonderful pedicure(courtesy of Top Nails on Northfield).
